Security & surveillance
Power and data connections for cameras, access control and alarm equipment.
Cameras, door controllers, readers, alarm panels and recorders all need power and data — inside the housing, at the device pigtail, and between devices. For equipment makers and system integrators, the work is matching each device’s connector, the cable run and the mounting location. Outdoor sealing, PoE power and run length are confirmed per project, never assumed.
What security equipment makers and integrators need
Camera pigtails
Multi-connector device tails — network, DC power, audio and alarm I/O — molded or sleeved, to your pinout and length.
Internal camera harnesses
Fine-pitch leads between sensor board, main board, IR and heater modules inside fixed and PTZ housings.
Access control cabling
Reader, lock, exit-button and door-contact leads with the connectors each device uses, labeled per door.
Alarm and sensor leads
Detector, siren and panel wiring in multi-conductor cable — conductor count, gauge and color code per your spec.
Power and PoE connections
DC power leads, splitters and network jumpers. PoE class, voltage drop and run length are checked against your device requirements.
Outdoor and sealed connections
Overmolded connectors, glands and sealed junctions where the installation needs them; the ingress rating is confirmed per project.
What gets checked before the PO
Security devices are installed once and expected to stay connected. These details are confirmed before quoting.
| Device interfaces | Connector types and pinouts for each camera, reader, lock and panel — from the device drawing or a sample |
| Power | Supply voltage, current and PoE class per device, with run length checked for voltage drop |
| Data | Network, serial or coax link type and length — the data rate you need is confirmed against the cable actually quoted |
| Environment | Indoor, outdoor or vandal-exposed mounting; UV, temperature and moisture decide the jacket and sealing. No ingress rating is assumed |
| Pigtail construction | Overmolded, sleeved or heat-shrunk breakouts; where molding is used, tooling cost and ownership are stated up front |
| Compliance | Cable ratings such as plenum or riser, and RoHS/REACH materials, as you specify for the installation market |
| Testing | Continuity and pull-force per the agreed plan |
